Shaving my husky dog?

I have a husky, blue heeler, and Australian shepherd mix that I am considering shaving because it is so hot out. I've had a few groomers tell me not to shave her because husky's have a coat that insulates them and keeps them cool and if i shave them their coat will not grow back the same. I've had others tell me its completely fine an that it will help keep her cool. Has anyone shaved their husky? What was the result?
