I can pick up Spanish easily, but I can't roll my R's ... is this a problem?

Would native Spanish-speakers still be able to understand me if words that are meant to be trilled, i.e., with double-Rs, are dragged out with the regular R sound instead? (I made A+ in Spanish in high school both years, still can pick up quite a bit, but have hesitated in pursuing fluency because of this problem with rolling my Rs).
