How do you receive a language degree in college that you've studied in high school?

After graduating high school, I will have 4 years of Japanese taken, classes 1-4. What I was wondering, is while you're at college and want to get a degree in it, minor, to show your fluency of that language, do you have to repeat all the courses again, or could you just skip to the more advanced and modern classes as well as the cultural classes? Thanks.
